We are exporters of Southern Rock Lobster (Jasus edwardsii)

and Tasmanian Giant King Crabs (Pseudoocarcinus gigas).

Our Southern Rock Lobster is the most highly sought after lobster in the world for its quality, taste, firmness of flesh and rich red shell colouring.

 

Lobster Air is an accredited exporter to markets in Asia, predominantly Hong Kong,

Taiwan, Vietnam,  Thailand, Singapore. We follow strict Australian government-established guidelines and protocols to ensure that the lobsters are handled, transported, and exported in a humane and sustainable manner.

Lobster Air has a close working relationship with a team of independent licensed commercial fishermen, these relationships have been built up over the last 20 years. Our fisherman are located all around southern Australian waters of Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. All of our fishermen use pots to catch their lobsters. The quantity they catch are set by given quota each year. Our commercial fishermen follow strict regulations set by Fisheries Australia to ensure ecological and sustainable fishing industry in Australia.

 

When we export, our lobsters are sorted based on size, weight, colouring and quality, ensuring that only the best lobsters are selected and placed in specially designed holding tanks ready for export.  On the day of the export, lobsters are packed with wood wool and Dry-Ice packs into polystyrene boxes sealed with tape. The wood wool is used to keep lobsters moist and prevent them from damaging each other. The lobsters are placed in a temperature-controlled environment to maintain the lobsters' ideal conditions. Our Lobsters are exported via air freight from Melbourne.
